"Really good service and first impressions"

Anything else?

I had to take my elderly grandmother here today to see the Urologist today and have been really impressed by the way we were treated. Here is how things were.... I was running late - called the hospital and was expecting the person to be painful to deal with like happens in an NHS hospital. They were amazing! They were grateful I called ahead to let them know and told us not to rush and would make sure we were seen. When I got the hospital, there was a good amount of free parking available (NHS Hospital normally charge). When I got my nan into the reception area, I was greeted by two lady receptionists. The one who was on the phone made eye contact with me and smiled (good) and the other lady was really helpful and found our details immediately and even acknowledged we called up in advance and told us not to worry, the next patient after us had gone in and we would be seen next. Less than 10 minutes later and we were in with a consultant who took all the general details about the problems and confirmed what would be happening in the next few weeks tests wise. The nurse who was with us took contact phone numbers and email addresses so that they could reach me if they needed to and confirmed they would even try to fit us in if there was a cancellation. All in all, first impressions are very good. The staff seem happy with the work they are doing and Ramsay Healthcare have done a good job. I have been to both NHS and Private hospitals personally and can honestly say, the staff made no difference about us being NHS and we were treated just like a private patient. Yes, I know things can go wrong and people have bad experiences, so far, so impressed!
