"Treatment in CCU Unit"

About: Watford General Hospital

Anything else?

Having heard poor reviews of Watford General I was apprehensive about the fact that I would be having treatment for heart failure there. My worries disappeared almost immediately on emergency admission to the Coronary Care Unit. All the staff were extremely professional, reassuring and friendly and worked very well together as a team. I spent two weeks in the unit in September 2012 and have nothing but the highest of praise for all the treament I received during that time. I returned this week ( 2nd December, 2013) to the CCU unit to have an ICD fitted (having been given a very comprehesive talk about the device and the procedure the previous week) and once again was immediately put at ease by the very curteous and friendly welcome to the ward. I was amazed by the fact that I was asked to arrive at 0800,was seen on time and in a bed within minutes After the pre-ops the Consultant arrived and with his usual charming "bedside manner" gave me another run down of the procedure which he was about to undertake. He and all his team should and, I am sure do, feel very proud of the supreme level of service they provide. If all NHS Hospitals were as good as this one there would be no bad press! My heartfelt (no pun intended) thanks. Barbara Dolan .
