"Accident and Emergency and pain clinic thank you"

About: Pilgrim Hospital

Anything else?

After exhausting all options with my GP who could not see my pain as anything newI took myself to a and e. Im a cronic pain sufferer and when I felt pain in new area due to medication side effects, the triage nurse listened and was calming when I needed to discuss embarrassing problems. I was in, triaged and seen by a doctor in less than 2 hours. Thank you for seeing me as a person and not a list of past symptoms on a computer. My gp is still trying to treat my new pain as if its linked to my old pain. The pain management clinic have listened to me and are writing to my surgery so I dont have to go to a and e to deal with my problem and they are extremely supportive having time to talk on the phone and thoroughly discuss my new symptoms Earlier that day my gp surgery hung up on me! The holistic approach is very evident at this hospital I just hope that Doctors from older generations can learn to treat people with a bit more dignity

Dear PinkPadme; thank you for leaving your feedback; it is much appreciated and I know the teams in A&E and the pain service will appreciate it too. It was good to read about the level of understanding and care you received - and - importantly that staff listened to you as an individual. I hope your pain is now under control and that you are feeling better; thank you again.
