What I liked

I was recently admitted to Ward 3. The care and attention I received there was wonderful from ALL the staff from domestics to the ward manager.

I was also able to witness the care given to other patients, mostly elderly, and far sicker than myself. The care and compassion shown by the staff was extraordinary.

What could be improved

Infrastucture

It is no secret that thoughts have been given to further downgrade or even close Whitby hospital. No doubt the site would raise a large sum of money. What a mistake that would be.

Cenralisation of services at Scarborough is not working properly, as anyone who has had to wait well past their appointment time for out outpatient treatment will testify.

Whitby hospital is a wasted resouce, and for a relatively small investment could be upgraded to provide more and better services. I hope 'the powers that be' read these comments, and realise what a potential greater asset Whitby Hospital could be.
