"Appleby Ward"

Anything else?

I can vouch for Appleby ward too. I understand it is for older patients with physical illness as well as Psychological. It is a mixed sex ward but they all have private rooms with communal lounges. My mum has been in there a fair few months now. She is a difficult case and the staff have been very good with her. The doctors are always keen to meet up with the family of the patient and explain how things are going. Sometimes they may appear to be too firm with some of the patients which can be a bit unnerving at first but as time goes on and I have visited many times I totally understand it is for the safety of themselves and the patients and at no time did I feel the patients were being badly treated. The staff are very kind and I've seen patients in distress, just being hugged by a nurse and speaking kind words to them. Far from these horror stories you see on these documentaries. Thank you for all your hard work Appleby ward. (The Limes)
