About: Whiston Hospital

Anything else?

Whiston hospital was our chosen hospital for the antenatal care for my partner and our expected child. All care running upto the big day was thorough, informative and all round excellent. During the birth the hospital excelled itself! The maternity triage/staff were all excellent, took a personal interest with you, very clean, kept everything in order, involved us in decisions, gave us many options, constantly checking we had everything. All staff have their own attributes which complement their job role. All midwifes are instantly your friendly go to and so knowledgable and reassuring. All matrons are ordered, make sure everything is as it should be, make sure everyone knows their role - and believe me when your wife is pushing a 10lb baby out you need someone to take control during the aftermath! We also received some post natal care for our little one. The staff were that good they even phoned me at home to see how things were getting on - one report gave the nurse cause for concern so she instructed us to come in straight away and seen us instantly. Again taking a personal interest in our son and his care. All super, a truely excellent baby unit and the staff are a credit to their mothers! oh, big shout out to the breast feeding team also which were excellent, very informative, did not put us on any pressure and offered us every bit of help and advice.
