Arrived 9am pushed buzzer ignored for 4 mins could see two staff on the desk through the door window door opened I approached the nursing station both staff ignored me dind not even make eye contact I said I am here to check in still ignored I repeated then I said are you going to ignore me one of the staff looked up and said I am on the phone I replayed she is not (the other member of staff ) I said my name 3 times and she still was incompetent another member of staff said good morning to me by name (I have been on this ward 3 times now ) and said this is the nurse, the reception nurse did nothing to make me welcome I was booked in for 5 days some staff excellent others made me feel I was a burden most hot meals missed and had to ask and only offer a sandwich on the first day they fed the man in the bed next to me after 1 hour I asked for food and was told my choice had run out offered sandwich their was only two of us in the ward how can you feed one and not the other this happens often other patients also have told me then other days taken for treatment arrive back no hot meal so two hot meals out of five why have menus if you can't have the food other hospitals ring down and get something sent up also I asked one nurse if catering could bring mine up to the treatment ward where I saw patience eating their hot meals on a daily basis she said no ? I then had to ask for a sandwich other wise I would have nothing to eat why is this such a problem for ward 3D on my original leaving day no meals no sandwich offered 1 piece of cheese and 4 cream crackers my medication was not noted on record no M R S swabs taken I told the staff after the third day then she asked who was my next of kin! I needed a doctor to take out a femoral line staff said they can't get one I was lucky that a ex renal nurse was doing a shift and she offered to do it I was promised a visit Saturday morning by a doctor who never appeared I asked through the day no doctor late that night I was told after blood results you can go home Sunday morning every other person went home every time I asked staff said the doctor on call was not picking up his calls 16.45 I demanded to speak to the ward Clark and head of the hospital the Doctor arrived and said no body had contacted him from 3 D and he was on his own to cover stroke and neurology that said what was I supposed to do if staff are to busy to discharge me he the said the nurses had the wrong numbers so I spent 2 days in a ward because of incompetent staff I have two more sessions of 5 days and really don't want to stay on 3D where is patience choice this ward lets down all the other very professional medical team of doctors and nurses . The other department that let's Barts health care down is physiotherapy they have a tick box and I won't need to see you again and I can't help you with that.
