"A&E with a 9 year old child"

About: St Richard's Hospital

Anything else?

The triage nurse was the most patornising, condescending & rude nurse I've ever met. she talked over me, interrupted me and made personal comments that were inappropriate. She jumped to inaccurate conclusions over my domestic situation and insinuated I was wasting NHS time by being there as "there are many viruses going around". this despite the fact my daughter has previously had a grumbling appendix. She told me with almost delight we would have to wait 3/4+ hours and she wasn't wrong. when I asked if it was absolutely necessary that I complete a form including all my partner's details she told me it had to be completed "by law". I'd like to be advised which law as I've been unable to confirm when this was passed. the doctor was superb, very kind and knowledgeable but the triage nurse should not be working with people as she is clearly far to full of her own personal opinions on certain members of society. quite the most shocking NHS experience I've encountered. if she were a nurse in the private sector she would be disciplined but it seems as she's working in the NHS she is above such a process. perhaps she needs reminding she in fact a civil servant paid for party by myself as tax payer.
