" Doncaster DRI - Ward M4 - good staff, poor facilities"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

I was in Ward M4. I found the long journey on the trolley to the theatre a bit bumpy and the return journey after the operation downright painful enhanced by the bumps.I thought the ward could be cleaner and that the washing facilities could be improved. I used a shower room that was used as a store for chairs with no sink or mirror and shaved and cleaned my teeth in a mini sink in the WC.

The entrance to the ward had a cleansing station which in my opinion should be signed with a large poster insisting there is no entry to the ward unless used.

On a positive note the whole experience from the onset of my symptoms to the operation took just 3 weeks in which time I underwent numourous tests which were carried out efficiently by all the staff envolved. Many thanks to everyone.
