I gave birth to our first born at Basildon hospital. I admit I was a bit apprehensive before going in to labour as I had heard mixed reviews about the hospital. we decided to go for a water birth at the Willow Suite where there are 2 birthing pools. when we arrived we were seen to straight away and had the same midwives from start to finish. all the staff were friendly and were very reassuring which put me at ease. I felt the water birth went well and I did not need any pain relief. The room was clean as was the ward. I would recommend the willow suite to anyone all the staff there work really hard. I would definitely go back to the Willow Suite in the future.
