"My Mother psychologicaly ill for several days"

After 2 pre med consultations my mother was booked in to Barnsley Hospital for a knee replacement. She arrived with my father at 715am for a 730 am appointment on the day after having little sleep because of the stress. After she had been got ready for the Op. my father left the premises to await a phone call from Mum to go back to see her. But he received a call after 45 minutes from a very very distressed and crying Mum. The aneathatist had told her they could not do the Op. because she had a heart problem and was over weight. But he would reconsider the situation in 2 weeks time. She spent several days in the bedroom very upset and not eating. Could someone explain how my Mum could recover from the problems he had quoted, in 2 weeks? Because of this our family will not use these facilities at Barnsley again.
