"My wife has been admitted eight ..."

About: Frenchay Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My wife has been admitted eight times in the last year, from a nursing home,on this occassion she was discharged on 17th july at 6pm sent home with a needle still attached to her hand emergency doctor had to be called to remove.she was re admitted by 10 pm

had to keep asking for a pressure mattress but none arrived, the last time my wife was in hospital in febuary she contacted serious bed sores.

Was told nearly everyday she was going to be discharged and it never happened.

What could be improved

There is always a shortage of staff, they appear not to be trained to deal with disabled people, you might get a brilliant nurse one day and shes not seen again.the shifts should be arranged so that nurses stay with the patient for the week.

The biggest problem is comunication, information is not being passed on.
