"I'm still waiting for an operation"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

- I got a call out of the blue to arrange an appointment

- I opted for Saturday at Nuffield, Wolverhampton, which means I did not have to take time off work, nor did my husband as he had to drive me to the cataract clinic.

- The consultant explained everything to me and the process for the operation

- Now I know I need a cataract operation and I would like the operation as soon as possible, however, there appears to be a delay in getting an appointment for operation.

- Consultant cancelled December appointments for whatever reason, is now trying to reinstate, but time in theatre has been allocated elsewhere.

- All I want is the operation completed, ideally before Christmas would have been good. As I have to put eye drops in week before operation, I can't see this happening.

Thank you for provding TRAQS with your feedback.

Please accept my apologies that you were not informed by your GP that your referral would be sent and managed by TRAQS. There is a TRAQS patient leaflet which is handed out to all GP Practices/ GP's. Each patient that is referred by their GP should be given one of these yellow & blue leaflets. The leaflet explains about the TRAQS service, the steps in the process and contains our telephone number should you wish to contact TRAQS to discuss your referral.

I am sorry to hear that your appointment at the hospital has been cancelled. This is unfortunately is out of TRAQS' control and is managed at the hospital.

We do hope that the hospital rebook your appointment in due course and TRAQS with you the best with your referral.
