I have been experiencing constant back pain for over 8 months. I am self employed and the pain has been affecting my job, so therefore decided to contact my local GP (which doesn't happen often).
I was seen by one doctor at my local surgery. His advice was to take 8 painkillers a day and try to ignore the pain, even though he asked no further questions and didn't touch any park of my back or do any other tests. I didn't understand how he could diagnose me without doing anything?
The pain continued so I returned to the doctors to go through the same process with the same answers.. As I wasn't getting any answers from the GP, we decided to pay for a private scan and physio.
The physio summed up that I had hypersensitivity in many different areas. Following this we returned to my local surgery to see another doctor who listened to everything I had to say and pushed on certain parts of my body to suggest I may have fibromyalgia.
I don't feel you should have to go private to be listened to.
