Our son was rushed in to Rake Lane 3 days ago and had an appendectomy. This was a very challenging and emotional time for our ourselves as well as our son! I have to say that all of the staff on Ward 10 were simply fantastic! The surgeon made time for us, gave clear explanations throughout - and we were confident in his abilities. However, there was one nurse on Ward 10 that deserves a special mention. The way in which she talked and engaged with our 11 year old was outstanding. Her professionalism, attitude, and abilities were second to none. Our son was made to feel part of each and every decision and he was treated superbly throughout. Thanks from our family to this nurse for being so kind and caring. She is a credit to the North Tyneside General, to the NHS, and to her profession.

Dear Sir/Madam Thank you so much for such a wonderful description of the care your son received at North Tyneside Hospital. I absolutely understand the emotions and challenges that you have all faced as a family, it must have been a very difficult time. Knowing that your experience resulted in you all feeling fully informed and involved and that you had total confidence in the team is wonderful. In particular, your description of the one nurses is a pleasure to read and is written with such feeling, thank you. The team will be absolutely thrilled when they read your words! I do hope that your son is well on the road to recovery and getting excited for a happy and healthy Christmas. Enjoy together, all of you. Best Wishes Annie
