I was admitted to Furness General following a heart attack and remained in their care for 4 days prior to a bed becoming available at Blackpool for specialist care. I found the staff to be very caring and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them even though it was obvious that they were for most of the time under a heavy workload. The demand for beds exceeds the availability and this puts pressure on the staff.
