What I liked
First off my mother is a current patient on ward 10 after having major surgery and may i congratulate the majority of the nursing and medical team that work on that ward. They are excellent and work under ardous conditions. My mother is going through the tasking ritual of recovering from colon surgery and not feeling the best at the moment but is being cared for with such dilligence. Thank you to ward 10. A special mention to HDU staff too for which my mother was in for a couple of days post op.
What could be improved
A large concern however is that there is a shortage of nurses on this ward, two nurses for a large sometimes acute ward is not good enough, it is not fair to the patients and it is certainly not good enough or fair for the Nursing team who work non stop. Having worked in the Nursing arena myself i for one would not be happy being short staffed. It is a shame because the care my mother has received is slighty marred by this obvious lack of manpower.
