About: Heatherwood Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Before I was even admitted to the day surgery ward sister phoned me at home to discuss certain problems, I’m a disabled man, and she wanted to insure they could cope with my needs etc, when I arrived one of the ladies took my bags while the receptionist ensured all my papers work was correct they were very helpful and ensured I was taken to my bed quickly, the nurse was friendly as was sister they mad you feel relaxed, on entering the main room where they carried out the procedure the doctor made you feel confident ,and exchanged jokes he kindly explained what was what on the screen and how the endoscopies worked the whole procedure was over quickly, all the staff were excellent thank you all .

What could be improved

parking there were no parking bays near the day surgery for disabled ,I was tired out by the time my wife got me into the day surgery center, even the drop of point out side was occupied by two cars, niether had moved when I left, and reportedly they had been there all morning according to staff.

the other thing was the floor was polished to such a high degree, my crutches slipped,
