My godmother was recently a patient on ward 5 for ten days and sadly died there.
I can only say the staff were attentive and patient and flexible to my visiting during teatime as I had to travel some distance. I was even provided with a snack and drink.
The night my aunt died the nurse on duty - Pauline I think - was so sensitive to my aunt's needs, as well as mine when she told me about her last few hours. This has really helped to reassure me that my aunt was in good hands and didn't die alone.
When we collected my aunt's belongings staff all came up to express their condolences and we were treated in a caring and sensitive way. Dr Zaidi spent time to tell us what had happened and this was also so helpful to us.
"Wonderful staff on ward 5"
