"exceptional service and care from gynae..."

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

Anything else?

I am compelled to report a Physiotherapist for her outstanding manner, diligence and technical knowledge, after a series of appointments in gynae outpatients at North Tyneside Hospital. I felt that the reception staff and the consulting team were very accommodating and patient when treating me, but the physiotherapist was unparallelled in her focused, interested and holistic approach to examining my situation and proposing possible treatments. I have never before been treated so respectfully at a hospital appointment, and her genuine interest in her area of expertise was straightforwardly presented to me in the context of my own situation. I felt she listened and was therefore able to troubleshoot and propose ideas which made sense to me. I have no doubt that this combination of professionalism and personal skills would make her treatment of others as successful as mine. I appreciated from the outset her explanation of the sharing of roles and responsibility when embarking on a course of treatment. It gave me confidence both in her expertise and my capability. I feel that this truly represents the purpose of my request for support and help in my physical rehabilitation. I would like for her exceptional activity to be recognised by her management team, and for it to be known that her leading example should, in my opinion be used as best practice in the training of others.

Dear Madam, Thank you so much for finding the time to give such a detailed account of the care you received and the outstanding practice of your physiotherapist in particular. It was comforting to read what a difference she made. Like you, we would like to celebrate her contribution, and share this story with her line manager Karen Renforth. As your post is anonymous I am unable to do this at present. If you were willing to contact me directly on annie.laverty@nhct.nhs.uk - I will make sure that your kind and appreciative feedback is shared with her. We can also acknowledge her exceptional care within our internal processes which are designed to recognise staff who make us proud. Thanks once again, Annie Annie Laverty - Director of patient experience
