"Excellent care"

About: Northern General Hospital

Anything else?

I was recently admitted to NGH from my gp with an asthma attack. I attended a&e initially and the care given was second to none. The experience in a&e was scary but all of the staff were knowledgeable & confident but also calm and reassuring. The doctor who did my initial assessment especially, he explained carefully exactly what he was doing and why, he had a very calming nature and was 45 minutes late finishing work in order to complete my assessment. I was moved to MAU1 then brearley 1 and the same goes for every member of staff I came in to contact with. Everyone was so busy running around all day & night but it was never reflected in the care received and attitude of the staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. All you ever hear in the news about hospitals & hospital staff is negative views & complaints. Maybe if more people voiced good experiences, the staff would get the praise they deserve. Please pass on my thank you to the staff/departments mentioned for making an awful experience more bearable!

Dear Sarah T

Thank you for taking the time to give us your kind comments on your experience in the A&E department, and your subsequent recovery on MAU 1 and Brearley 1. Staff always welcome positive feedback and I will ensure your comments are passed on to those involved.

I hope you continue to make a good recovery following your Asthma attack.

Thank you again
