About: Fairfield General Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved? I have just found out that my Grandad was not on the waiting list for his

hip replacment, he saw the consultant over 3 months ago and we thought he

would of been getting the date to have the operation any day now. I am

absoulutley appauled by this as my grandad is in alot of pain, this is not

acceptable and he should of been helped by your nursing staff to give the

forms in to be put on the waiting list on the day when he saw the

consultant. I was told on the phone that it is the patients responibilty

to give the forms in, how can it be for an 80+ year old man who can not

walk very well and is partially deaf. please read this and make sure it

doesnt happen to anyone else

We can only apologise for your grandfathers experience. In order that we can investigate this further and put steps in place to ensure this does not happen again, please contact our PALS team on enquiries@pat.nhs.uk
