"Atrocious!!!!!"

About: Bassetlaw Hospital

Anything else?

I have visited this hospital as an outpatient 4 times now and each time have been completely astounded at how badly they treat people. The staff are rude, inconsiderate and have a real superiority complex. I have yet to have an issue sorted out by them and having sent in a complaint to this hospital waited two months only to be basically called a liar in the extremely poor response. They do not read your notes and have already judged you and decided that they are not going to treat you because it is too much trouble. I shall not be going back to this hospital ever again, it is a complete shambles and just think we are paying for these people to have jobs!!!!

We are really sorry that you have had this experience. It is unusual for an appointment to be delayed so long. If you'd like to contact Marie Purdue, General Manager, with your details we will be happy to investigate this further for you and try and resolve it. You can contact Marie Purdue on 01302 366666 ext 4037 or 4849 or by email. Our email format is firstname.lastname@dbh.nhs.uk.

Please accept our sincere apologies as our previous message was posted in error and doesn't answer your comments at all. (We had a temporary problem using the NHS Chioices response tool.)

We are also very sorry to hear your comments on your experiences in Outpatients and of the complaints process. It is absolutely not the experience we want to provide to our patients so we are very keen to look into this further to see how we can improve.

Outpatients Matron Lynne Whitaker would be very grateful and happy to help if you want to contact her on lynne.whitaker@dbh.nhs.uk or by phone via the Bassetlaw Hospital switchboard 01909 500990. You can ask them to bleep her if she is not at her desk when you call.

Once again, please accept our apologies both for the experiences you've had and for the fact that you will have received a 'response' message that didn't answer your comments. I can imagine that must have been annoying so I am sorry it happened.
