"My mother's good experience in outpatients"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / Dermatology

(as a relative),

My mother has advanced dementia. She is very frail. Recently she was referred to the dermatology clinic at the Royal Gwent Hospital with a growth on her leg, which needed to be removed as it might be cancerous.

She was very frightened when she arrived but the staff were fantastic and put her at ease. The consultant dermatologist was exceptionally kind and sensitive.

So tremendous thanks to Lynne, the psychiatric liaison nurse, Anne, the dermatology nurse and to Dr Nicolau who operated and comforted my mother at the same time!
