I asked to be referred for a specialist assessment for symptoms which I believed to be fibromyalgia. I saw a specialist who was excellent. He listened to my own understanding of my personal and developmental history, current symptoms and my own opinion which he confirmed with sensitivity and respect. I felt validated and more able to cope with my symptoms.
