"Nice and Effcient but Doctor had no bedside manner"

About: The Royal London Hospital

Anything else?

I went to A&E due to abdominal bleeding. I was seen quite quickly and efficiently as I thought I could be having a miscarriage. I was asked for a urine sample and when I went to the toilet a mass of about a size of a quails egg came out. I scooped it out of the toilet and was very concerned and really worried. I was in tears as I thought it could be a baby. I went back to reception with the sample bottle in my hands praying it wasnt what I thought it was. The doctor dismissed this as she didnt detect any pregancy hormone and asked me to go home and contact my GP if bleeding persisted. She couldnt even tell me what this thing was when I asked. She mumbled something about a biopsy but to be honest I was just so relieved that it wasnt a baby that I just walked out. She didnt even offer any follow-up and was very dismissive. I now wished I had asked a lot more questions and had been persistent as that mass could be anything. I am now faced with an agonising time of getting my doctor to refer me to Gynae for investigations. My husband is furious that I wasnt given the opportunity to know what this thing could have been and he will be making a complaint.
