"Maternity unit and special care unit"

About: Torbay Hospital

Anything else?

I was fairly let down by the care when I was in hospital. My son was delievered by c-section and when I have been discarged from the maternity section and moved into the special care baby unit I thought my wound had become infected and asked a midwife to look for me. I was told that I would have to leave the hospital to see my gp if I was worried. The problem with this was that my son was really quite ill and I couldn't leave the hospital. I was very let down by this as surely it makes no sense to leave the hospital to go and see my gp to then return again. The other problem that I had is that when me and my son left scbu they said that they had contacted my midwife and health visitor and that they would ring me the next day. After four days I had heard nothing so left message with them and when they called me back they told me that hadn't been informed that we had left the hospital. I find this appalling as my son was 7 weeks early and could have been very ill. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I'm just being honest. Very let down.
