"Cannot thank Felsted Enough....."

I am writing to say an enormous thank you to the care given to both my father and my brother and I recently by the amazing staff on Felsted Ward. Dad was admitted to the ward after around 48 hours in the Emergency Assessment Unit. He had a chest infection/pneumonia on top of advance dementia and the prognosis was not good. However all of the staff did whatever they could to help keep things comfortable and dignified for him right up until he passed away in their care. Nothing seemed too much bother and all requests to turn him or provide some more pain relief were actioned as soon as possible. He was found a side room and my brother and I were allowed unlimited access to see him and were even able to stay with him for a couple of nights in relative comfort. Sadly my brother and I have also been exposed to watching a parent pass away in a hospice which obviously are geared up to provide palliative and end of life care. However we found Felsted's care to be on a par with that experience which is truly worthy of note given Brookfield is primarily acute hospital. Thank you all for making a very difficult time very much more bearable.
