Anything else?
Today was the fourth time we have arrived for an appointment only for there to be no appointment with Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust. On one occasion equipment was broken, another occasion no Consultant, another occasion no Radiographer and today no Registrar/Consultant (whichever). Hospital tried to call us at 2.30 and the appointment was 4.30 so we tried to call back and contacted PALS who told us the appointment was still on the system whereas previously no contact from them at all and we had to wait in 2 waiting areas before being told no appointment. Meanwhile, we can never get hold of the Consultants secretary whose answer machine says' Hello this is ..... I work Monday to Friday 9-5' (which, when it is 9-5 Mon-Fri leaves only the imagination to wonder why communication is so dire. The next time we tried the number (following speaking to PALS) the message had changed to 'I will be out all day and do not leave a message unless it's an emergency- apparently one of the other secretaries said she was on a half day of study. All we are asking for is for people to communicate with us in the way they would wish to be communicated with. Hopefully, the Matron we spoke to today will keep to his word and call us tomorrow to let us know when our actual (as opposed to virtual) appointment is. I do hope these comments do not break your 'rules' although I do not intend to let things drop this time as it had become a ridiculous situation.
