Anything else?
We gave birth to our second baby at the QCCH Birth Centre in November 2013. The entire experience from start to finish was excellent - with staff providing an extremely high level of care and support both during labour and afterwards. We arrived at approximately 12:00 on a Saturday and despite the Centre being incredibly busy were given a room and examined within 1/2 hour. I proceeded to give birth in the pool with the aid of only gas and air (and the support of two brilliant midwives). We then stayed one night and the overnight staff were very supportive, holding the baby while I had a shower etc. The food was even fairly good! The final few antenatal appointments that I had there were also great - a 5 minute wait each time as opposed to the sometimes hour long wait at the antenatal clinic. I would strongly recommend the Birth Centre to anyone considering delivering at QCCH.
"Marvellous experience of the Birth Centre"
