"Parking charges for disabled"

About: Gillingham Disablement Services Centre

(as the patient),

Hi, I have had to visit the hospital three times in the last 2 months and I am disgusted

at the minimum charge being increased to £2. On one occasion I was only in the car park for approx. half an hour on another it was over 2 hours. I am of the opinion that the

charges should be dropped all together as I suspect are many other people who are disabled, , as it now seems that we have been turned into cash cows, This is what always happens when charges are forced onto people. I will be writing to my MP. about this

matter also.

Thank you for taking time to provide feedback. I am really sorry that we have caused you distress over car parking. Just to confirm, parking is free to disabled drivers on all of our sites. This was obviously not made clear to you, so please do accept my apologies.

May I suggest that you email me and we will arrange to reimburse your car parking costs, and perhaps we can use you feedback to improve our communication to make it much clearer. My email address is Julie.pearce1@nhs.net

Hi Julie,

Thank you for your reply to my story concerning charges for disabled drivers at Medway hospital but I am afraid I must beg to differ about free parking as they started charging disabled drivers well over a year ago and have just increased the minimum charge from £1 to £2 and this applies all day and all night as well. Would appreciate it if you would look into this. Thanking you.

Kind regards.
