Anything else?
I gave birth to my first child here in 2011 it was extremely traumatic for me and my partner. My daughter was not being born and was stuck in birth canal. At the time I was shouted at to push and told I was being lazy and did I not want this baby?!. Then when my babys heart rate dropped a midwife shouted my baby would die if i did not start pushing even though trust me i was !. After a long time of unsuccessful pushes a doctor came in and honestly was brilliant. She checked me out told me the baby was in an awkward position this was why no joy at me pushing her out. She turned baby round and within another 5 minutes she was born. The midwives were appalling and possessed no empathy for me or care to check what the issue was. If it was not for the doctor coming on i do not know what would have happened. I was told to have a bath but the room I was in consisted of a dirty bath tub with no shower head or plug so I washed in the sink! I was told I could not have toast only bread and my partner was not offered anything at all. I chose a sandwich for him and a cup of tea for me which was tepid and in a stained mug. Needless to say I left as soon as I could and vowed never to have another baby here again!. The lack of care, understanding and politeness upset me and ruined my experience of childbirth.
"Appalling care and lack of respect for patients!"
