About: Coventry And Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I waited for about eight months on the IAPTS list and I then got to see a counsellor. After 3 sessions, I felt the member of staff wasn't very nice to me and made me feel pathetic. I felt like I was being blackmailed emotionally when I made a complaint to IAPTS but I am not sure I felt my complaint was treated seriously.

After submitting my complaint I then had a phone call from another service in Coventry to be told they couldn't do anything for me anymore and were taking me off the list. I was very upset and felt at a complete loss by this. I had used IAPTS previously when I had a nervous breakdown, severe depression and anxiety and panic attacks. They helped me out loads then and I managed my anxiety and got better until I had to go back in contact after a series of attacks.

So I went to get more help but because of my anxiety they said I needed other help and they don't deal with these issues anymore. I feel they were misleading me because they helped me last year and I feel they would still be helping me now if I had not complained and it feels like I am being taught a lesson.

I am worried this could be one of those situation where you shouldn’t complain because they will just drop you from their list : (
