"Three and a half years and still going"

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

Anything else?

Over three years ago I was belatedly diagnosed with bowl cancer and a T4 tumor- the cancer had spread. After a number of operations and chemotherapy I am still very much alive thanks to the skill of surgeons and oncologists. My treatment at the Lingen Davies Centre has always been top class, first rate dedicated professional treatment alongside real passionate empathy and understanding for the patient and their families. Every nurse that has treatedme in the chemotherapy day unit has helped me leave with a smile and a positive approach to dealing with the treatment. The oncologist I am fortunate to have, provides personal and real individual attention, listening and encouraging me through each aspect of treatment. Each time I have had to seek help during treatment the response has been exemplary, providing me with the best possible and including my family to reduce the anxiety for them too. I can't thank the whole team enough for their positive and supportive attitudes; consultants, doctors, nurses, all support staff including pharmacy, X-ray, lab technicians, cleaning, maintenance and the wonderful WiFi. Thank you

Dear Mr Wyatt It is really great to hear how pleased you have been with the care and treatment you have received from the team at the Lingen Davies Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The skills and qualities you describe represent the attention that I think all of us would want at a time of anxiety. We are tremendously grateful to you for your taking the time to let us know. We are also very grateful to everyonen who has helped to make the Lingen Davies Centre possible. These new facilities are available in the hospital thanks to the fundraising efforts of amazing people across the county and beyond ... and you have also mentioned the most recent development, which is the provision of a patient WiFi system which has been funded from our hospital Charitable Funds thanks to donations from patients, relatives and staff. Thanks again and please accept our hopes and best wishes for your future care.
