"An Unexpected Holiday Conclusion"

About: Hillingdon Hospital

Anything else?

I am a tourist from Australia and had travelled through England for a couple of weeks. I was literally in my seat on the plane to come home when I weas struck down with a passing kidney stone. I was deplaned in agony and my partner and I transported to Hillingdon Hospital. The attention I received in A&E was exemplary, and even though I had a phobia about catheterisation, the staff were sympathetic and understanding and adjusted their plans for me to take my concerns into account. I was only in overnight this time and was readmitted a couple of days later with further stone issues. Again, the doctors, the nursing staff, even the cleaning and food cart staff were sensational. However Guys, this place really needs a good tidy up and renovation. I was in a bed by the window, and it was soooooo cold I had to get out of bed in the middle of the night, find my tracksuit to put on as I was freezing!

Thank you so much, it is always pleasing to receive comments like this. I think it must be frightening sometimes when you come from overseas into a hospital environment in another country. I am really pleased you received such great care. We do however, appreciate that the building is aging, and we have recently had new radiators supplied to all the wards which conduct the heat better, and it does seem warmer on the ward.
