"Super efficient and quick response"

About: Woodlands

Anything else?

I attended UCC at QM Saturday morning 8am, receptionist quickly took my details and booked me in with what I thought was a badly sprained finger/hand, I was seen within 15 minutes by the triage nurse, who again was friendly and efficient, sending me for an X-ray immediately. I was seen within 5 minutes by the radiologist X-rays taken and sent back down to the UCC waiting room whilst my electronic X-rays caught up with me. My nurse called me back in, confirmed my fracture and sent me off for my temporary casting, this was carried out by a friendly chap and back I was sent to reception for confirmation of my appointment at QE hospitals fracture clinic. arrival, consultation, X-ray, diagnosis, casting, follow up, to leaving unit took just over 1hr, amazing efficiency by friendly responsive staff. pros: much quicker and less stressy than A&E (for minor injuries as described) Cons: advertised on this website as being open 8am until 10pm this information is incorrect it's a 24/7 facility with a staff changeover at 8am, which led to me arriving at 8 and have a brief turnaround delay, when I could have arrived, due to pain and lack of sleep, three hours earlier. My follow up appointment at fracture clinic for prognosis and treatment is in two weeks time, which seems excessive given temporary nature of cast. No fault of unit of course. The pros outweigh the cons, and this unit is brilliant, South East London Health Trust please take note, more of these please. Never close QM.
