"The difference between wax and inflammation?"

About: NHS Fife

(as a relative),

My wife went to see a doctor about sore ears, dizziness and hard of hearing. Was told that it was just wax and to take drops. My wife has been putting ear drops in but her hearing has got worse. Was told her ears will need to be syringed. My sister in law is a nurse and brought the kit home. There is not one single bit of wax there. Can this doctor not tell the difference between wax and inflammation?

Every time you go to see this doctor it's always seems to be viral

Dear Yankeedoidle

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I was sorry to hear of your wife's situation. We believe that there is value in sharing feedback with those directly involved, and on this basis I would encourage your wife to speak to the doctor about this concern. It may be that the doctor can offer an explanation or assist further.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.

Regards

Louise Ewing
