"Fantastic treatment, fantastic staff!"

About: Winfield Hospital

Anything else?

I visited the winfield hospital as a day patient for a gynaecological procedure under general anaesthetic. Each member of staff that I had contact with were so fantastic - friendly, understanding, caring, polite and treating me with respect. I was a very anxious and nervous patient, especially during and after being administered the general anaesthetic but the theatre staff were extremely reassuring and caring. My nurse from the ward was only too happy to come down to the anaesthetic room with me and hold my hand as I drifted off to sleep. I was given drugs to help my body relax and before I know it, I was waking up in recovery with a very friendly nurse by my side. I was given lots of pain relief with helped with the pain while I was at hospital and was checked on regularly until I was allowed to go home. Both the anaesthetist and my consultant came to see me before and after the op and at all times my care felt personalised and I didn't feel that I was just 'another patient'. All in all, I was a very nervous patient who had a very pleasant experience and left with a smile on my face. I'm hoping I can choose to go back to the winfield for my next referral.
