At 41, and having struggled for most of my adult life with 'depression', 'low self esteem', 'lack of confidence', or what ever label suited the person who was judging me, Inclusion Matters finally diagnosed me with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). I had often wondered could I be a sufferer, and the diagnosis was nothing short of a liberation.
My treatment was fast, patient-led, goal driven, challenging, uncomfortable at times, thought provoking, sensitively delivered and EFFECTIVE. I am still Dysmorphic. I am no longer owned by Dysmorphia. When my enemy comes knocking, I recognise his shape and I know his tricks. He can't have me any more.
I followed every step my therapist set me. And, having struggled to think I would ever be physically close to another man again, I have now been in a new relationship for 3 months. This was the final challenge my therapist, set me and I honestly thought it would be a hurdle that I would not be able to face.
My therapist has permanently altered and improved my life.
Inclusion Matters is incredible and I thank my therapist, Elizabeth Lovell, unreservedly.
