What I liked
Overnight staff on Ward C were very helpful and sympathetic.
What could be improved
Hospital is very old and outdated. Very few "mod cons". Did not like the way staff desks were incorpoarted into the wards; it made me question the cleanliness of the ward when someone desk, papers, computer etc was stuck in the middle of patient beds.
I also found it very difficult to speak to appointments staff without going through PALS and it took ages to get an appt. Was told I would get a new appt, would be called back etc but never happened without PALS intervention.
Being transferred from Ward B (day cases) to Ward C (overnight) was utterly shambolic and took place at shift change. Result was I was left in a bed with no water and no pain relief for 1.5 hours.
