"good people lost in general mess. Needs new..."

About: Manor Hospital

Anything else?

I have had to go to the Manor many times. First Breast Cancer Staff excellent. Out patients especially diabetes have messed up my bookings nearly every time I visited recently-which they denied-nor did they do anything not even apologise when I gave written proof. They told me no nurse was there but when I became upset at the receptionist not even caring I had made a £20 taxi trip one appeared but still no apology. The wards are filthy. The toilets full of used bed pans which stay there for hours. The staff have no idea how to manage pain, both myself and my daughter have been left for hours while staff do more important things like giving out commodes (this may be due to one lecturer who asks which should be managed first and says toileting or you will have a bed to change. This carries on for hours generally until you cry scream or get relatives to bring pain medication in. You end up eating disgusting white bread no butter cheese sandwiches or ham-if you ARE Muslim for two days until your order comes through-but often that is given to a pet patient. I really do not want to die in the Manor, nor do I want my relatives to be treated there. There are many other things that I could talk about, like my grandson waking during an op and another with symptoms of brain injury because a doctor waited too long to do a Caesar on my daughter. However my consultant is a superb help with my back as is another doctor. The breast team have also been good. I want to have my cataract op under sedation but have not been given this option they want to stick a needle in my eye. Also all my out patient appointments get changed to a month or two later.
