"It feels like she has been forgotten"

My mother has a brain tumour and was seen by QE at the end of July. She was told that she would need to be admitted for an operation to remove it 'within the next few weeks' and that the operation was needed 'sooner rather than later. ' Four months on, we are still waiting for an operation date.

In the meantime, my mother is not being monitored by anyone and her condition is deteriorating. The tumour has visibly grown significantly, her speech is becoming more slurred, her mobility is deteriorating, headaches are more frequent and severe seizures are lasting longer and now she has pain in her jaw. In addition, her emotional well being is severely affected, being unable to make or commit to any plans or indeed live her life beyond a day at a time.

We have called our contact secretary at QE frequently and keep being told there is no news. We feel fobbed off. My mother's GP has also written to request that she be seen as soon as possible.

As a family, we are in despair at the lack of news. How can we find out when my mother will be operated on? Who is responsible for monitoring her in the meantime? It feels like she has been forgotten.
