About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Anything else?

I had my son here in 2011 he was a big baby they did give me plenty of scans to check the fluid and they said I was just carrying a big baby but put in my notes I was carrying too much water and I was at risk if I went in labour that the cord will come out and could be fatal after I had my son the midwife out her hand right up me and ripped my placenta right off the wall I screamed and begged her to stop she was pulling me right off the bed after I went on the ward the care was 'ok' In march 2013 I fell pregnant with a boy my first scan showed too much fluid behind neck they told me more then likely Down syndrome I can have abortion now if I like I refused I went back for more scans and at 16 weeks they said he has something wrong with his heart and is showing all signs of Down syndrome and that it wasn't too late to abort I told them no thanks I had another scan at 20weeks they asked again if I wanted to abort I said no way I got told I would have my son coupe, weeks early due to his heart 30 weeks and 35 weeks I had another scan too check everything again but they scaned me and did not out in my notes bout his heart so when I went into labour no one could be bothered to read my notes and when I went onto the ward they was going to discharge me and my son even though he needed a heart scan too see what was wrong I had to tell them he had something wrong with his heart they said it doesn't say anything in your notes I said yes it does look proper , he finally had his heart scan and was confirmed he does have heart problems and was transferred to GOSH and had surgery at 3 weeks old we was told that if we didn't tell the doctors he had something wrong with his heart then he would of died at 3 weeks old , I also think the nurses who do your blood pressure well awaiting too see consultants shouldn't be so rude weather I have 4 or 10 children don't look down at me when you don't know anything bout me ..... I just think Queens need to give mothers / to be more care and midwifes and consultants need to read the notes proper there was no need for this poor care I had twice , this could be a very good hospital if they sorted there nursing care out and learn to respect and not be so rude and give out poor care what joy do they get .?

I am very concerned to hear that your son’s heart problems were not reported on his notes. I am also sorry to hear also you feel that some of our staff were rude to you. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will address this with the department. Please contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk so that we can investigate further. Yours sincerely, Flo Panel-Coates Director of Nursing
