Anything else?
Members of my family and I have used the MIU several times this year for a severe scald, ankle injury, unexplained swelling and bruise and sudden and excruiating back pain. None of us own a car so to have the MIU within hobbling distance has been a godsend. How we would have managed if we had had to get to Ashford especially at a weekend I simply do not know. Have the people who make thses decisions any idea of the minitations of public transport, especially at weekends. I have had to miss an appointment at William Harvey because, having got there on time by bus through snow, the clinic was running an hour late and had I waited for my appointment I would have missed the last bus back to Faversham. No bus from Faversham passes the Whitstable clinic! It adds stress to an already situation to have to rely on lifts. Closure will affect those on a limited budget, the elderly and parents with young children. All of us who used the unit were treated well by excellent staff.
