"Car parking at wansbeck hospital."

About: Wansbeck Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

This week I had an appointment for my son at dietician in children's centre.

I tried for an hour to get parked in the car park outside childrens centre this has now been made a STAFF car park.

Moved to outpatients car park still no spaces and cars fighting to get in. I moved on to the main car park at complete opposite end of the hospital. Disgraceful. Cars parked illegally so cars couldn't get up and down rows.

Eventually after an hour I got parked at the very back of the main car park and had to run around with buggy and also help my mother who is crippled with arthritis trying to stay on path with cars parked on them. This is ridiculous.

The childrens centre is used by children in wheelchairs who were Also having to battle as I was. No parking attendants in site. Very disappointed. We almost missed his appointment and today my mother can barely move.

This parking meeds reassessed.

Dear Sir/Madam I am really sorry that you, your mum and your son had such a difficult time trying to park at Wansbeck Hospital. I am also really sorry that this resulted in real discomfort for your Mum due to her arthritis. I can imagine how frustrated you must have felt during your visit. We do appreciate how hard it can be sometimes to locate a free parking space and we agree that the current parking arrangements need to be reviewed. There is currently a group working hard on proposals as to how best to improve the situation. I will make sure that your experience is shared with this group, in particular your comments on the car park located next to the child health centre. Thanks for taking the time to allow us to learn how it felt for you and understand what the real issues are for our patients. Best Wishes Annie
