What I liked
Back in May I took myself to A&E at about 11pm on a Tueday evening and ended up waiting in A&E for 9 hours before being seen by a doctor, who carried out a blood test that I had to wait another hour for and then another 7 before treatment!! The department appeared not to be over stretched by patients as there were only about 6 waiting as I arrived and possibly 4 or 5 brought in by ambulance over the 9 hours I waited.
No information or explanation given during the wait in A&E and the estimated time given of about two hours was well out. I did ask the day shift coming on why there was such a long wait and they explained that one doctor failed to come into work.
What could be improved
More information during long waits, how about having the information board above the reception in A&E on!!!
