I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and deepest gratitude for the paramedics and Ward 6 staff that saved my life on Tuesday 29th October during the late afternoon/early evening. I was admitted to Ward 6 on Tuesday with chest pains. Thanks to the paramedics for their quick diagnosis and fast action to transport me to Ward 6, I was met by a team of cardiology specialists who immediately began treatment. Unfortunately, I went into cardiac arrest on three occasions during triage, however thanks to the fast action, expertise and excellent team work of the staff; I am here and able to tell the story today. The care and support the Ward Sister provided my relatives who were obviously distraught at being present and hearing me being resuscitated was first class. I am aware hospitals acquire a great deal of bad press, however, I would like to emphasise I am an advocate of Heartlands Hospital and would like my appreciation and wholehearted thank you to be cascaded to those who cared for me and enabled me to walk out of the hospital only four days later.
