Thank you to the managers and staff at the Treatment Centre, where I was treated with great kindness at a very worrying time. I would like to thank them for taking the time and trouble to make sure I received the earliest appointment possible, and in Ophthalmology for the efforts they also made to ensure I had a speedy appointment for the feedback results. (By the way, there is no mention of the Ophthalmology Dept in the question below 'which department did you visit?'). MC

Since taking over the former Surgicentre on 14 September 2013, which up until then had been run by a private sector company, we've done many things - inlcuding changing its name to the Treatment Centre and integrating it fully with the Lister hospital. The quality of clinical care provided by our doctors and nurses at the unit has always been high, but real attention needed to be paid to how it was managed. With the help of the its staff, the way patient care is managed has been improved, whilst at the same time ensuring that the number of people being cared for at the Treatment Centre is increased - before 14 September it was running at just 50% capacity and today it's pushing 80%. This means that more local, just like you, are getting their treatment more quickly and locally here at the Lister. They're also getting to experience the great service that our staff provide to the their patients. The last few months have been a testing time for the Treatment Centre staff, who have have had to get used to a great deal of change - which is why we know they will be delighted to read your feedback. As for your comment about ophthalmology not being lested our NHS Choices pages, this is something about which we are aware and are working to sort out.
