"Hip replacement surgery at Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Clydebank"

I was offered the chance in 2012 to travel outwith my home Grampian area for surgery which I accepted albeit with some trepdation at the prospect of the journey.

On this occasion the procedure reuired was a total right hip replacement and this was carried out by Mr Martin Sarungi and his team on October 3rd 2012. At the time I was extrememly impressed by everything to do with that surgery and the post oparative care I received and this mesage is in part a long overdue note of thanks to everybody involved.

When, during the proces of being assesses for the surgery to my right hip, it was also discovered that a hip resurfacing procedure which I had done in 2005 at Woodend hospital in Aberdeen was causing problems I was then offered the opportunity to travel again to GJNH for a left hip revision and I had no hesitation in accepting this time. I am currently sitting in the post op ward having had that surgery yesterday and again I am extremely pleased at the pre, during and post op care I have received. On this occasion the surgeon I need to thank is Mr. Jason Roberts and his team.

I would also like to thank Mr. Luck and Mr Ray who were the anaesthetists on each occasion and especial thanks go to the theatre staff (particularly Margaret) and recovery room staff again on both occasions and now also all the ward staff and other staff involved (too many to name unfortunately).

This note seems too little to fully express my appreciation for everything done for me on both these occasions and to express how impressed I am with the GJNH facility in general.
