"Staff (when I got to see them)"

About: South Tyneside District Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Staff (when I got to see them)

What could be improved

Wait time.

Attended for 'urgent treatment' (heart/chest problems) only to wait for 5 hours before I saw a doctor.

Initial assessment did not occur until after I had been there for over two hours.

Communication about potential wait times was non existent.

Dear Mr Lyons

I am sorry that it has taken so long to respond to your posting, however the technology has now made this possible. I am so sorry that you did not have a positive experience and I am grateful that you have drawn this to my attention. I have asked Lee Whitfield, Assistant Divisional Manager to review the points you raise and to make sure that patients are kept fully informed of any reasons for waiting on a regular basis. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us know about your experience so that we can improve our services.

Kind regards

Lorraine B Lambert

Chief Executive
